• Amazon launched a business academy to help small businesses sell on its platform. The program includes live seminars, web seminars and community college courses. The offering program was created as a response to multiple requests from small business owners and the ecommerce giant’s focus on third-party vendors to keep fueling its growth.
  • Amazon is experimenting with new seller features like A/B tests for content and Instagram-like posts. The test allows sellers to make one significant change to a listing and then analyze if that change impacted results. This test is only available to businesses on the company’s brand registry.
  • Steve Kessel will leave Amazon at the end of the year. The Amazon executive oversaw the retailer’s expansion into brick and mortar and the launch of the original Kindle. Kessel has been with the company for 20 years.
  • Costco and Instacart partner to test a one-hour prescription delivery service in Washington and California. All deliveries are free for orders over $35. This move comes as a way to compete with the Amazon-owned online pharmacy PillPack.
